A Vedic Sun in Karka is traditionally linked with a caring, protective nature and a strong tie to family and home. Tradition describes a sensitive, loyal temperament that gives a lot of weight to belonging.
Cancer as a Moon sign (rashi)
The Moon rules Karka, so a Karka Moon is considered at home in its own sign. It is associated with deep feeling, a good memory and a strong need for emotional safety and familiar surroundings.
Cancer as a rising sign (lagna)
With Karka rising, the Moon rules the chart, so the Moon sign and the rising sign are closely linked. This is traditionally read as a receptive, caring presence that is shaped by moods and by home life. The first house is Cancer.
